Three investment firms connected to some of the best-known names on Wall Street have upped the ante in a legal dispute over now-insolvent assets. The dispute has attracted attention in the financial industry, with implications for the future of investment strategies and partnerships. Amidst the legal battle, Lighthouse Investment Management LLC has made headlines for selling a significant number of shares of Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) at Defense World.

US hedge-fund firm North Rock Capital Management LLC has also made waves with its rapid expansion of Asian operations, including hiring former Millennium Capital employees. The multi-strategy fund that reportedly tries to cut employees some slack has caught the eye of industry insiders for its unique approach to investment management.

In a strategic move, Luminae Partners has announced the formation of a specialized team and unique brand identity. Through this partnership, Lighthouse Learning students will gain access to annual multi-disciplinary learning workshops conducted by York. Lighthouse Canton, a Singapore-headquartered global wealth and asset management investment institution, has also entered into a partnership with NH Absolute Return Partners.

In an echo of CalPERS' ill-timed tail-hedge unwind, the $13 billion fund may have missed out on a nearly $750 million payday. Nilesh Jasani, subject matter expert on generative AI and founder of GenInnov Funds, has joined Lighthouse Canton's expanded advisory board, bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the team.
