This joint FATF-OECD report highlights how citizenship and residency by investment (CBI/RBI) programs can allow criminals more global mobility and help facilitate money laundering and illicit financial flows. Regulators are keeping a close eye on these programs to prevent abuse.

With the EU warning against citizenship by investment schemes, some Spanish politicians are looking to pull the plug on golden visas. There is a growing concern about the potential risks associated with these programs and their impact on national security.
