It has become the go-to for American Express customers looking for the latest investment opportunities. Warren Buffett in his letter talked about investment in Coca-Cola and American Express and how he turned $2.6 billion into $47 billion.

American Express is another long-term holding in Berkshire's portfolio. Buffett & Co. also invested roughly $1.3 billion in the financial services company. The company has made investments in companies such as Apple, Bank of America, Chevron, and American Express.

In 2019, American Express Ventures announced its largest investment ever in a chef-to-consumer marketplace, Gobble. With participation from Andreessen Horowitz and Amex Ventures, this investment will help Gobble to expand its services and reach more customers.

American Express Ventures also invests in the StrataQuant Materials Index, a modified equal-dollar weighted index designed by the AMEX to objectively identify and select stocks of companies in the materials industry. The index is designed to provide investors with a transparent, rules-based, and objective approach to investing in the materials industry.

Amex Ventures also invests in mutual funds and closed-end funds. An investment in a Fund is subject to certain risks, including market risk. In general, shares of closed-end funds often trade at a discount from their net asset value. American Express is currently investing in the Clough Global Equity Fund which seeks to provide long-term capital appreciation and current income.

American Express Ventures has invested in a variety of companies, from consumer-focused businesses to mutual funds and closed-end funds. The investments made by Amex Ventures are helping to shape the future of the financial industry.
