Victor Schmidt, a long-time advocate of parks, recreation, and conservation, has recently been appointed as an IAPD trustee. The Illinois Association of Park Districts (IAPD) is an organization dedicated to promoting the interests of park districts, forest preserves, conservation, and recreation in the state of Illinois. The association works to ensure that all park districts, forest preserves, and conservation areas are adequately funded and protected, and that the public has access to safe, enjoyable outdoor experiences. As an IAPD trustee, Victor will assist the association with its mission of advancing Illinois park districts, forest preserves, conservation, and recreation in the state.
Victor Schmidt has a long history of advocating for parks, recreation, and conservation. He has been a member of the Illinois Park and Recreation Association (IPRA) since 1997, and serves on the board of directors of the Illinois Association of Park and Recreation Agencies (IAPRA). In addition, he has been involved in various conservation and park initiatives throughout the state, including leading efforts to promote and protect the Illinois River, as well as advocating for adequate funding for park maintenance and operations.
Victor’s appointment to the IAPD board of trustees was welcomed by State Representative Maurice West, who was recently presented with the Illinois Association of Park Districts (IAPD) Outstanding Legislator Award for his dedication to preserving the state’s parks, recreation, and conservation. West praised Schmidt’s commitment to the IAPD and its mission, noting that with his guidance and expertise, Illinois parks, recreation, and conservation will be in excellent hands.
