An anonymous winner has claimed the $723 million Powerball jackpot through a limited liability company, LaKoma Island Investments LLC, and accepted the pre-tax cash payment of $723,564,144.

An anonymous Powerball winner has finally come forward to claim the $723 million jackpot. On January 13, 2021, the winner chose to accept their winnings through a limited liability company, LaKoma Island Investments LLC, as opposed to receiving the full amount in payments over time. This is the second-largest jackpot in Maine Lottery history, and the winner has elected to take the pre-tax cash payment of $723,564,144.

The identity of the winner is being kept anonymous for now, but we do know that the winner chose to accept their winnings through the limited liability company LaKoma Island Investments LLC. The company is registered in the District of Columbia as well as the U.S. Virgin Islands. The winner chose the pre-tax cash payment of $723,564,144 in lieu of receiving the full amount in payments over time.

This win marks the second-largest jackpot in Maine Lottery history, coming in behind the $448 million Powerball jackpot that was claimed in 2014. The anonymous winner is planning to celebrate the winnings with a party in 2023 at Ninigret Park in Charlestown, Rhode Island.
