Former teacher Maggie Perkins, 30, is now an employee at Costco after quitting her career. Perkins says she's much happier at her new job, and explains why she chose to abandon her career to work at her local Costco.

Costco is known for its legendary $1.50 hot dog and soda combo, but it is more than just a great place to get a snack. It is the second-largest retailer in the world, and is one of the top retailers in the U.S. with a presence in the global market. It is no wonder why Perkins decided to join the ranks of this giant retailer.

Perkins says she was attracted to the company's wide range of products, competitive pay, and flexible hours. She also notes that the company has a strong commitment to customer service, something that was lacking in her previous job.

Costco is eliminating its online photo center services, according to an email sent to customers Thursday, Jan. 5. This move follows the trend of other retailers, such as Sam's Club, Amazon, and most streaming services, in raising its membership fee.

The company's CEO Craig Jelinek painted a mixed picture Monday, one in which consumers are more vigilant but inflation is cooling. Despite this, the company is expected to raise prices in the near future.

Costco CFO Richard Galanti said the company raises its prices on average every five years and seven months. Its last price hike was in June, and there's no set date on when the wholesale giant is expected to raise the prices again.

Despite the expected price hike, Perkins says she doesn't regret her decision to join Costco. She says she's happier at her new job and loves the company's commitment to customer service. She's also come to appreciate the competitive pay, flexible hours, and wide range of products that the company offers.

Shares of Costco Wholesale Corp. slumped 0.00% to $503.28 Monday, on what proved to be an all-around grim trading session for the stock. Despite the decline in shares, Perkins remains optimistic about her decision to join the company.

Believe it or not, Costco is known more for its legendary $1.50 hot dog and soda combo than its steady stream of solid financial results. However, the company still has a lot to offer, and Perkins is one of many that have decided to join the ranks of the giant retailer.
