Microsoft is in talks to invest $10 billion in OpenAI, the creator of viral AI chatbot ChatGPT, in a deal that will value the firm at $29 billion.

Microsoft Corp is reportedly in talks to invest $10 billion in ChatGPT-owner OpenAI as part of a funding round that would value the company at $29 billion. As part of the potential deal, Microsoft is looking to integrate the GPT3-based chatbot into its software and services.

The invest is expected to further strengthen Microsoft’s artificial intelligence capabilities and take on rivals such as Google and Apple in the AI space. The tech giant previously invest $1 billion in the startup in 2019.

The move is likely to bring significant changes to the AI industry, creating new opportunities for OpenAI and its technology. The firm has developed several AI products, such as ChatGPT, which is a powerful and widely used chatbot.

OpenAI was founded in late 2015 by Silicon Valley visionaries Sam Altman, Greg Brockman, Ilya Sutskever, Wojciech Zaremba, and John Schulman. It is one of the most prominent AI companies in the world and has drawn invest from the likes of Amazon, Microsoft, and Alphabet.

The invest from Microsoft is expected to further accelerate OpenAI’s growth and help it expand its AI capabilities. The deal is expected to provide the startup with access to the tech giant’s resources and insights, allowing it to develop new products and services.

OpenAI has also recently announced its intent to develop “capabilities” that will allow it to “create, understand, and process natural language.” This technology could potentially be used to develop AI-based chatbots and other natural language processing applications.

The deal is not yet finalized and the two companies are yet to reach an agreement on the terms and conditions of the invest. However, it is expected that the two companies will soon reach an agreement and the deal will be finalized in the near future.
