McDonald’s is continuing its expansion across the United States, with a new restaurant opening near Fort Worth, Texas. The new restaurant could serve as a template for future expansion, as the chain looks to capitalize on the success of its mobile ordering system. The restaurant will feature many of the same menu items as other McDonald’s locations, including the classic Big Mac and its signature french fries.
The company has recently been facing scrutiny for its hours violations involving 101 teen employees in a Bridgeville-based franchise. The franchisee operating the 13 McDonalds locations was ordered to pay $57,000 in civil money penalty for the violations. The teens were allegedly made to work more hours than allowed by law, and this could lead to further investigations into the company’s labor practices.
McDonald’s is also looking to expand its business through partnerships. The company recently announced a collaboration with Krispy Kreme, which revealed that it will be closing 14 more locations next year. The collaboration is expected to bring more customers to both restaurants, and will likely increase McDonald’s profits.
